• Preserve local military history and military history in general
• Help educate the public and youth about the local, provincial, and national military history
• Promote remembrance and education about why remembrance is important
• Tell the stories of our veterans through documents and artifacts
• Be a resource for historians, researchers, schools and genealogists who are conducting research
• To honour and remember Canada’s veterans
The Branch 56 Museum was established in 2023 and in short order we joined the Museums Association of Saskatchewan. Our collection features a vast array of artifacts and documents that relate to local, provincial, and national military history. Many of the artifacts in the collection were donated to the museum by local veterans and/or their families. We are proud to be able to tell the stories of our veterans. We offer school, seniors, group and guided tours by appointment. We invite everyone to take a tour and learn about Swift Current's military history and a little about the Royal Canadian Legion and our mission.
